Grief Recovery - Fertility and Miscarriage

I support women who are struggling with fertility issues and miscarriage, who feel their challenges have robbed them of the happiness and excitement they felt when they first started trying to get pregnant. I guide women through proven techniques to teach them how to heal their grief.

You will learn what you need to do to reduce your stress and anxiety so that you can be more successful as you try to have the children you long for, and to get back your hope and joy.

If you'd like to find out more, and to see if you might feel good about working together, you can book a free information call, or check out current programs, events and workshops below.

The Grief Recovery Method® offers a proven method for healing from grief, but it doesn't work for everyone.

Here are some of the reasons why the Grief Recovery Method® may not work for you.

The group classes  and workshops based on the Grief Recovery Method are education. If you are not willing to change your existing ideas about grief, or for other reasons find it difficult to learn, this program may not work for you.

If you are willing to learn but face specific learning challenges such as language barriers or vision issues, please contact me because there are aids available such as books in audio formats and in other languages. I have a special needs son, and so I am very willing to explore how best to help you if you have other learning challenges so that they won't be a barrier for you.

One of the most important things we learn in this program is the importance of respecting emotions. If you are not willing to respect your emotions and the emotions of others, it will be difficult to benefit from this program. This includes letting yourself and others be sad.

There is also an element of personal responsibility. If you are not willing to take any responsibility for your reactions to events, this program may not work for you (taking 1% responsibility is often enough – note this is responsibility for your REACTIONS to events, not the events themselves).

There is often forgiveness required before you can fully heal from grief. If you choose not to forgive, this program will likely not help you heal completely. In this system, forgiveness just means letting go of the hope of a better or different yesterday, it does not mean being ok with events as they happened. It certainly doesn't mean being ok with similar things happening in the future. Forgiveness is also seen as an action first, and a feeling second, Even if you do not feel able to completely forgive, it is still likely you will gain significant insight and healing from this program. If you are open to letting go of pain, I will guide you in taking the steps that are appropriate for your unique relationship.

If you are willing and able to learn, respect emotions, take responsibility, and forgive, this program should work for you.
The quick answer is yes.

My training in emotional education is through the Grief Recovery Institute®. Unfortunately, that often leads to the misunderstanding that my training is extremely limited, when it is actually quite broad. Grief can involve many types of feelings including conflicting feelings (positive and negative at the same time). I choose to apply this knowledge in a wide variety of ways.  If you are struggling with your emotions, please schedule a 20 minute information call with me and we can figure out how I can best help you.
Yes, in addition to teaching the Grief Recovery Method® classes I also teach workshops and give presentations.
If you would like a workshop or presentation tailored for your audience, the content of the Grief Recovery Method® is excellent for many types of groups. Simply book an information call and we can discuss the details.
Currently, the official Grief Recovery Method® groups are not offered online, but only in an in person format. The content is often highly emotional for participants, and in person connection is considered essential for successfully and safely completing the work by the Grief Recovery Institute®.
I am located in Guelph, Ontario, and am primarily offering courses there.
If you want information about how I run Grief Recovery Method® classes, or anything else, feel free to contact me at tamsen@griefrecoveryforfertility.com.

If you want more information about the Grief Recovery Method® itself, you can also check out their website at www.griefrecoverymethod.com. The Grief Recovery Handbook is also widely available for purchase (or often from the library) if you would like to read it on your own.
For workshops and information sessions (a 1 time event), I don't offer refunds, but tickets are transferable if you contact me in advance at tamsen@griefrecoveryforfertility.com. Just let me know the name the ticket was purchased under and the name of the person who will be attending instead.

For multi-session classes such as the Grief Recovery Support 8 session class or the One to One Grief Recovery 7 session program, payment must be made in advance. I offer no-questions-asked refunds to all clients if they attend the first meeting and feel that the Grief Recovery Method® or the specific (group or One to One) setting is not for them.

Refund requests must be made within 2 business days after the first meeting. Simply email tamsen@griefrecoveryforfertility.com within 2 business days of the end of the first session to request a refund.

If you live in Southwestern Ontario, you can contact me to see if I would hold a group in your area (I am located in Guelph). An alternative is to visit www.griefrecoverymethod.com - they have a listing of people across the world who teach the Grief Recovery Method®, and hopefully you can find one holding groups near you.
My schedule is limited as I have a special needs child at home, and generally hold classes only when he's at school.

If you are interested in attending a group class but would like to suggest another time, email me at tamsen@griefrecoveryforfertility.com and let me know, or book an information session with me.

Alternatively, you can contact me to request to set up your own group. Please be aware that currently I will consider working on weekends but not evenings (after 7pm).
I would love to accommodate you!

If I currently have a Grief Recovery Method® class listed that fits in your schedule and has enough spaces available, of course you and your friends are free to book that.

If you have a group that would like to take the class together, and there are at least 4 people (but no more than 15), contact me about times that would work for you and I will do my best to accommodate you as soon as possible.

EXCEPTION: Please note that family members can be in the same large group class, but some activities require small group work, and family members are not permitted to be in the same small group. So, the group shouldn't consist of only members of the same family. Of course, I can work with you to add more members to your group or fit you into existing groups so that you can go through the program.
Occasionally I will offer discounts through my email list, so if you wish to stay informed and have access to those you can sign up for that at this link: https://bit.ly/2Hb1q91

There is a group package available as a lump sum for people who organize their own group and provide the location and refreshments themselves. This is less expensive than if 5 people join a group as individuals. If you are interested in such a package, book an "Information call" on this site and we can discuss the possibilities.
